At Mobile Screen and Glass, we are committed to ensuring the safety of our customers. Today, we bring you another edition of our “Mobile Minute” where we highlight the importance of glass handling safety.
When you come to purchase a piece of glass from us, our team will cut it to the size you need and wrap it in paper for easy transportation. However, when dealing with larger pieces of glass, there are additional precautions to consider.
Firstly, we recommend using safety gloves. These rubbery gloves provide a good grip and help prevent any accidental cuts. You can find these at most home improvement stores. Second, always wear safety glasses when handling glass.
One of the key things to remember is how you pick up the glass. Do not lift it from the center as this can cause it to bounce and potentially snap, leading to injuries. Instead, gently bring it to the side and lift it. With your safety gloves on, you should be able to hold it comfortably and securely.
If you need a break, rest the glass on your shoes, but never directly on the ground. This is to avoid chipping the corners of the glass. If necessary, use a couple of wooden sticks or similar items to keep the glass off the ground.
When it comes to transporting your glass, make sure your vehicle is ready. Clear the floor and carefully place the glass inside. Drive cautiously, avoiding sudden movements that could damage the glass.
Finally, when removing the glass from your vehicle, once again ensure it’s not placed directly on the pavement. Use wooden supports or ask someone to help if needed.
At Mobile Screen and Glass, your safety is our top priority. We hope these tips help you handle and transport glass safely. Remember, if you need any assistance, our team is always ready to help.
Stay safe and happy DIY-ing!
